Earth-fault Relay REJ 521

The earth-fault relay REJ 521 is a secondary relay which is connected to the current transformers of the object to be protected. The earth-fault unit continuously measures the neutral current of the object. On detection of a fault, the relay will start, trip the circuit breaker, provide alarms, record fault data, etc., in accordance with the application and the configured relay functions.

The earth-fault unit includes low-set stage I0 > and high-set stage I0 >>. If the high-set stage is given a setting value within the lower part of the setting range, the relay module will have two nearly identical stages. In this case, the relay can be used in two-stage load shedding applications.

The protection functions are independent of each other and have their own setting groups and data recordings. The earth-fault protection function uses conventional current transformer measurement.

An output contact matrix allows start or trip signals from the protection stages to be routed to the desired output contact.

Overcurrent relay REJ 523

The overcurrent relay REJ 523 is a secondary relay which is connected to the current transformers of the object to be protected. The overcurrent unit continuously measures the phase currents of the object. On detection of a fault, the relay will start, trip the circuit breaker, provide alarms, record fault data, etc., in accordance with the application and the configured relay functions.

The overcurrent unit includes low-set stage I> and high-set stage I>>. If the high-set stage is given a setting within the lower part of the setting range, the relay module will have two nearly identical stages. In this case, the relay can be used in two-stage load shedding applications.

The protection functions are independent of each other and have their own setting groups and data recordings. The overcurrent protection function uses conventional current transformer measurement.

An output contact matrix allows start or trip signals from the protection stages to be routed to the desired output contact.
Overcurrent and Earth-fault Relay REJ 525

The combined overcurrent and earth-fault relay REJ 525 is a secondary relay which is connected to the current transformers of the object to be protected. The overcurrent unit and the earth-fault unit continuously measure the phase currents and the neutral current of the object. On detection of a fault, the relay will start, trip the circuit breaker, provide alarms, record fault data, etc., in accordance with the application and the configured relay functions.

The overcurrent unit includes low-set stage I> and high-set stage I>> and the earth-fault unit low-set stage I0 > and high-set stage I0 >>. If the high-set stage is given a setting value within the lower part of the setting range, the relay module will have two nearly identical stages. In this case, the relay can be used in two-stage load shedding applications.

The protection functions are independent of each other and have their own setting groups and data recordings. The overcurrent protection function uses conventional current transformer measurement.

An output contact matrix allows start or trip signals from the protection stages to be routed to the desired output contact.

REJ 527

The directional or non-directional earth-fault relay REJ 527 is a secondary relay which is connected to the voltage and current transformers of the object to be protected. The earth-fault current and the zero-sequence voltage unit continuously measure the zero-sequence voltage, earth-fault current and phase angle of the object. On detection of a fault, the relay will start, trip the circuit breaker, provide alarms, record fault data, etc., in accordance with the application and the configured relay functions.

The voltage unit includes low-set stage U0b> and the earth-fault current unit low-set stage I0 > and high-set stage I0 >>. The earth-fault stages can be replaced by two additional voltage stages, low-set stage U0 > and high-set stage U0 >>.

The protection functions are independent of each other and have their own setting groups and data recordings. The voltage and current functions use conventional transformer measurement.

An output contact matrix allows start or trip signals from the protection stages to be routed to the desired output contact.

Restricted Earth-fault and Residual Earth-fault Relay SPAJ 115 C

The combined restricted earth-fault and residual earth-fault relay SPAJ 115 C is intended to be used for the earth-fault protection of power generators, motors and transformers.

The relay contains two energizing input circuits, that is, a differential earth-fault current circuit and a residual earth-fault current circuit.

  • Sensitive restricted earth-fault protection stage for fast, selective earth-fault protection
  • Sensitive definite time or inverse time earth-fault stage for back-up residual earth-fault protection
  • Output relay functions freely configurable for desired relay operations
  • Flexible adaptation of the relay to different types of application
  • Local numerical display of setting values, measured values and recorded fault values
  • Serial interface for two-way data communication over fibre-optic bus between relay level and superior system levels
  • Accurate settings and stable functions due to fully digital relay design
  • High immunity to electrical interference and robust aluminum case to class IP54
  • Continuous self-supervision of hardware and software, including auto-diagnostics
  • Powerful optional software support for setting, reading, copying and recording relay parameters

Feeder Protection Relay SPAS 348 C

The feeder protection relay SPAS 348 C is used in applications requiring directional phase overcurrent, directional short-circuit and directional earth-fault protection. Typically, the relay is used for the overcurrent and earth-fault protection of infeeders and busbars in distribution substations provided with multiple infeeders supplied via power transformers from the same high-voltage busbar system.

The relays are also applied for the selective short-circuit and earth-fault protection of parallel multiple feeders between substations and for feeder protection in ring-type and meshed distribution networks.

Further, directional relays are used for the protection of radial feeders supplied with a small back-feed of energy from a generator in the consumer-end of the feeder.

Earth-fault relaySPAJ 110 C

The earth-fault relay SPAJ 110 C is designed to be used for selective earth-fault protection, either primary or back-up protection, in solidly earthed or low-resistance earthed power systems.

The relay has two protection stages: a low-set overcurrent stage I 0 > and a high-set overcurrent stage I 0 >>. The low-set stage operates with definite-time characteristic or with inverse-time characteristic, while the high-set stage operates with definite time characteristic only. The earth-fault relay is used both as primary and back-up earth-fault protection relay for feeders, transformers, generators and motors. The relay can be configured to cooperate with a residual voltage relay used for blocking/deblocking the operation of the earth-fault relay.

Sensitive earth-fault relay SPAJ 111 C

The sensitive earth-fault relay SPAJ 111 C is designed to be used as a neutral current measuring feeder earth-fault relay, as generator interturn fault protection, as capacitor bank unbalance protection and rotor earth-fault protection.

The sensitive earth-fault relay is suited for both primary and back-up earth-fault protection. The input impedance of the energizing circuit of the earth-fault relay is extremely low which means that the relay can also be energized from low output core-balance current transformers. Core-balance current transformers can be recommended when extremely sensitive earth-fault protection is required. The earth-fault relay can also be energized from a set of three phase current transformers connected in parallel, a so called residual current connection.

Directional Earth-fault Relay SPAS 120 C

The directional earth-fault relay SPAS 120 C is used for selective feeder earth-fault protection in isolated neutral and impedance earthed networks. The relay is especially useful in networks, where the operation characteristic of the earth-fault relay must be remotely controllable.

The directional earth-fault relay can also be used for the earth-fault protection of power generators and large motors.

  • The directional earth-fault relay can also be used for the earth-fault protection of power generators and large motors.
  • Two-stage directional earth-fault relay for distribution networks
  • Directional low-set earth-fault stage with definite time characteristic
  • Directional high-set earth-fault stage with instantaneous operation or definite time characteristic
  • Operation direction of the high-set earth-fault stage either the same as that of the low-set stage, or the opposite
  • Output relay functions to be freely configured by the user
  • Flexible adaptation of the relay to different applications
  • Digital display of settings, measured quantities, recorded fault values, etc.
  • Extensive two-way data communication via fibre-optic serial bus
  • Continuous self-supervision of hardware and software including auto-diagnosis
